The Tripartite Committee on Employability of Older Employees in its final report notes that it is common practice for employers to provide medical benefits for their employees. To mitigate the higher costs that may be involved in hiring an older worker, one option is to implement the portable medical benefits scheme where the cost burden is the same for young and old employees.
