Age Friendly Employment Practices
On 26 January 2006, the Tripartite Committee on Employability of Older Employees released its interim report. The report outlines the challenges of an ageing workforce in Singapore and articulates a holistic approach to enhance the employability of older employees.

One of the key recommendations is to promote the adoption of progressive human resource practices that can help companies tap on the strengths of older employees, and raise their effective retirement age. The Government has also launched the ADVANTAGE! scheme, which provides incentives for companies to adopt some of these practices. Many companies have since come on board to contribute to this national effort.

This guide outlines a range of practical measures for all employers to consider. It also documents some of the best practices that companies have implemented. We hope that through this guide and other outreach efforts, we can create a strong national movement to enhance the employability of older employees.
